Every bead filter features a backwash process. The captured dirt particles must be flushed out of the filter. The Superbead is specifically designed for this backwash process, unlike modified sand filters.
The Superbead:
- works with energy-efficient low-pressure pumps
- does not damage biology during flushing
- uses little rinse water (Small +/- 150 liters | Large +/- 400 liters)
- has high flows at low pressure (Small max. 14 m3/h | Large max. 35 m3/h)
- has a large biological capacity (Small 400 grams/day | Large 1 kg/day)
- has large connections of 90/63 (Small)/90 mm (Large)
- is easy to flush (switch off the pump and let it drain)
- is easy to automate
Practice
A SuperBead filter requires a pre-filter system, such as the SuperSieve (except in an indoor pool). The SuperBead is easy to install anywhere, both above and below the water level. The SuperBead can also be placed further away from the pool, provided the pipe diameters are carefully considered. Because it is a closed filter, indoor installation does not cause moisture, odor, or insect problems. Because the SuperBead has no electrical components, such as a blower, it can also be easily installed outdoors.
Automating a SuperBead
Automating the SuperBead flushing process is one of the best ways to ensure good water quality. The filter is then flushed fully automatically, for example, every day. This automatically removes the contaminants daily. The automatic set has two 220V plug connections. The system pump is connected so that it stops during flushing. Alternatively, a wastewater pump can be connected, which activates during flushing, sucking the water out of the SuperBead and pumping it to the sewer.
Please note that when installing an air-Qua Superbead, a pre-filter must always be installed.
